John Maurer, M.D. established Ashland Orthopaedic Associates
in 1976 as a general orthopedic surgeon with special interest and training
in joint replacement and problems of the hand.
Dr. Maurer graduated from College of the Holy Cross in Worcester,
Massachusetts, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1964. He
received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee in 1967. Dr.
Maurer served as a Naval flight surgeon with the U.S. Marine Corps in
Vietnam, following which he completed his residency training in orthopedic
surgery in 1974 at the U.S. Naval Hospital in San Diego, California.
Dr. Maurer is board certified in orthopedic surgery and a Fellow of the
American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons since 1977.
During his tenure in Ashland, Dr. Maurer has served as Chief of Staff of
Ashland Community Hospital and President of Jackson County Medical Society. |
